Named after Washington Irving, Irving Park was once home to some of Chicago's finest architecture. The Villa was developed in early 1900's, and strongly influenced by the Prairie School of Frank Lloyd Wright. Architecture in the area includes a rich mix of Victorian, Queen Anne, farmhouses and craftsman style bungalows. Currently there are many small condominium buildings as well as Chicago's ever present frame or brick bungalows. Dinning offers an international array of ethnic restaurants and a fair amount of shopping either in the neighboor or just outside it's boundries.
