City of Bellemeade

I just asked a question.  I would be willing to bet that since that Shelbyville Road  is US 60 and that there are three levels of government (Federal, Kentucky, Metro) bigger than Bellemeade who have some responsibility along the road and either have an easement, right of way,or both.  I suppose if someone is interested enough they could look up corridor legislation and/or precedent set by court decisions.  I do recall that there was an appelate court case concerning a church parking lot on the 60 foot right of way on Brownsboro Road not too long ago.

The right of way along US 60 Shelbyville road is owned by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. They have contracted with Metro for upkeep. We own our entrances though part of the Bellemeade road entrance area is actually in the right of way. We over stepped a bit but no one said anything.

I had understood that Ackerson's area bordered Shelbyville road. Thanks for the correction.

It runs from Old Lagrange Road on the north to Taylorsville Road in places on the south and from Hobbs St, Fontenay Way, Dorsey Lane, and Moser Road on the east to Waterson Xway, Caldwell Way, Lyndon Lane and Wood Road on the west.  If the population of Metro Louisville/Jefferson County is roughly 720,00, and we have 26 districts; that would mean that nearly 27, 000 people reside in each district.

Oh oh, left off a zero.  Metro estimated population by Census Bureau in 2009 was 720,000 - not 720,00.
