Fireworks Helpful Tips from Charmeck Uptown Event

Charlotte, NC — The City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County will operate a Mobile JIC from 5 p.m. until midnight at the 4th of July event scheduled at Memorial Stadium at 310 North Kings Drive.
The Presbyterian Hospital July 4th Spectacular is scheduled to occur from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. as long as weather permits. Charlotte City Manager Ron Carlee has declared the Spectacular an Extraordinary Event based on Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s determination that this event meets the criteria as defined in City Ordinance No. 4814. Helpful information:
- Please leave coolers and pre-packaged food at home as there will be plenty of food and beverages available on-site for purchase.
- Arrive early as seating will be limited.
- Parking is available around Memorial Stadium and Central Piedmont Community College but on-street parking will be restricted to keep traffic lanes open. Parking in nearby neighborhoods is also restricted. Towing will be enforced where parking is restricted.
- General pet safety: Animal Care & Control recommends that you do not take your animals to any firework shows as it is usually stressful on them.
- 311 will be operating until 1:00 a.m. on July 4th.
- CATS bus routes and the LYNX Blue Line will operate on a Sunday service schedule. Express bus services and the Gold Rush will not operate on Independence Day.
