Solid Waste Services Recognized as a NC Smart FleetCity of Charlotte Solid Waste Services was among five Centralina Clean Fuels Coalition members to be recognized as a NC Smart Fleet for efforts to reduce petroleum usage. Solid Waste Services was recognized during the first Southeast Alternative Fuels Conference in Raleigh at the end of October. The Clean Fuels Coalition, housed at the Centralina Council of Governments, is this region's grassroots initiative of the US Department of Energy's Clean Cities Program focused on reducing our dependence on petroleum through cost-saving fleet improvements.
