The Charlotte Mecklenburg Planning Department staff notifies citizens monthly about upcoming text amendments to the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances. On May 18, 2015 at 6:00 pm, City Council will hold public hearings on the following amendments:

 

 
   

 

 

 

015-048

Text Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to permit short-term bicycle parking in the setback and/or public right-of-way, with Charlotte Department of Transportation or North Carolina Department of Transportation approval in the UMUD, MUDD, PED, UR-1, UR-2, UR-3 and TOD zoning districts.

2014-021

Text Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance adding 1) a new definition for a mobile produce market and allowing it in a  variety of zoning districts  with prescribed conditions, and 2) modifying the prescribed conditions for outdoor fresh produce stands.

2014-097

Text Amendment to the City of Charlotte Zoning Ordinance to 1) modify the floor area ratio (FAR) requirements for institutional uses located in single family and multi-family zoning  districts when a parking deck is constructed as an accessory use, and the deck meets certain standards; 2) clarify the floor area ratio for accessory residential buildings to an institutional use; 3) confirm the spacing requirements for large and small maturing trees;  and 4) reorganize and reformat Section 12.212.
