I recently launched the My Brother’s Keeper Charlotte (MBK CLT) local action plan with a group of college interns who will work with Charlotte area children throughout the summer. MBK CLT is truly a community-wide initiative. Click to view an exciting video detailing how Charlotte will meet two community-wide goals for local youth outlined in MBK CLT:
- ensure all children read at grade level by 3rd grade.
- ensure all youth are college or career ready by graduation.
This Sunday, 6/21/15, at 7 p.m. ET, Discovery Communications and OWN (the Oprah Winfrey Network) will air “Rise: The Promise of My Brother’s Keeper,” a documentary featuring an extensive interview with President Obama that chronicles the movement that has sprung up around MBK.
