CATS Interrupts LYNX Service for Scheduled Construction August 8-9
Charlotte, N.C. - Charlotte Area Transit System will perform a line cut August 8-9 due to construction work for the LYNX Blue Line Station Capacity Project. During this time, the LYNX Blue Line will only operate between the New Bern Station and 7th Street Station. There will be no train service from I-485/S. Blvd. Station to New Bern.
Customers can make a connection from all of the closed stations to New Bern Station via the LYNX Connector bus. Each affected station will have signage directing riders to the nearest bus stop. Customers should look for the bus stop that says “LYNX Connector." When the bus approaches, the headway sign will say “LYNX Connector.” It will operate every 20 minutes from I-485/S. Blvd. Station. LYNX riders and connecting bus customers should allow for additional travel time.
Regular local fare will be required and, as always, serves as a transfer. Tickets can be purchased at open LYNX stations from the ticket vending machines. Customers paying their fare on the bus will need exact change. The bus driver cannot make change and the fareboxes do not accept credit cards.
The LYNX Blue Line is expected to return to its regular schedule Monday morning.
