Madison Park School Boundary Change Denied

Posted in: Madison Park

Madison Park Neighborhood,

I was just contacted by CharMeck Planning to let me know that our request for boundary change has been Denied and will be moved into the comprehensive review.  The official announcement will be made this evening at the CMS Board meeting which is earlier than we were told a decision would be made.  To my understanding only one community, Northlake Landing, will be approved for a boundary request during this cycle...all others will be deferred until next year.
The news obviously is not a positive one for Madison Park nor our partner neighborhood Montclaire, however will continue to meet with CMS and the Board of Education to help work with them to map out a strategy for moving toward having True neighborhood schools that represent our communities.
As a next step for Madison Park & Montclaire, we will be reviewing the At-Large candidates for the CMS Board and will be making recommendations to the community for candidates who wish to support our efforts.  Stay tuned for more information as we meet with candidates and get their feedback.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me direct at vdelby@hotmail.com.

This has happened so many times over the years.   Some people had said it is a hopeless effort.

Thanks to those of you that have tried in the past and those of you in Montclaire and Madison Park that have recently attempted to get reassignments of our schools.

People continue to move out of this great neighborhood for better schools.   I just learned yesterday a neighbor on my street will be moving for that exact reason school assignments.
