Charlotte Water is recommending voluntary water conservation measures due to the Catawba-Wateree Drought Management Advisory Group's escalation to Drought Stage 1 .

Homes and businesses are being asked to only irrigate on Tuesdays and Saturdays between 6pm—6am, and refrain from outdoor water use during the day between 6am and 6pm.

Limit landscape watering to no more than an inch of water a week, this includes rain. Refrain from filling pools and only top off swimming pools on Thursday and Sundays, between 6pm - 6am

Discontinue the use of fountains and other ornamental water features that don’t sustain aquatic animal life. Do not wash vehicles at home, use commercial car washes that recycle water, and refrain from residential power washing

Two-thirds of Charlotte Water users are residential and the highest use of water is from lawn irrigation. The best way to conserve water is to limit or stop irrigation.
