Are You Recycling Correctly?

Have you ever wondered if you can recycle bottle caps, pizza boxes or anything else? Or thought maybe I should have placed that in my recycling cart instead of a garbage bag? Colin Beck wondered if he was recycling right; and after a trip to the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), he realized he was doing it all wrong. He wrote this cool article that explains what can be recycled.

Got Yard Waste? Prep it!

Bag of Leaves

Fall is here and leaves are falling! So while you're raking your leaves and gathering limbs, remember these tips before placing those items curbside for collection:

  •  Place leaves in untied plastic or paper bags or uncovered trash cans
  • Cut limbs, logs and brush to no more than five feet in length and four inches in diameter
  • Separate into piles that are no longer than five feet and no higher than three feet. There should be at least two feet between piles

Find more information on how to properly prepare yard waste for collection.
