Dear CLT voters,

The early voting numbers in urban communities are extremely low and are usually a great indicator of the general election turn-out.  While I’m not on the ballot for the first time in a while, I am very much still a concerned citizen of Charlotte, my hometown.  In addition to the Mayor’s race, we have incredibly important City Council and Board of Education races!  While I will not tell you how to vote, I will encourage you to NOT sit at home tomorrow and not VOTE!  Not voting can never be an option.  People marched, risked their careers, were attacked by dogs and died so that many of us could vote.  Again, sitting at home is NOT an option.

I can tell you first-hand how much work is left to be done in moving this community forward.  Some of the recent mailings and tactics should anger us all.  We have to show up in numbers…..big numbers to prove the negative forces wrong.  They don’t believe we will show up.  Again, sitting at home is NOT an option.

If you care about this wonderful city and its future, I am asking you to do the following NOW:
·         Get on the phone and remind at least 15 people, including all of your family members, to vote tomorrow!
·         Knock on some doors….start with your neighbors 5 doors up and 5 doors down from you!
·         Get on social media and share this message, and tell people they MUST VOTE TUESDAY!

Let them know, Early Voting has ENDED, Tuesday you must vote at your precinct! NO ID NEEDED!

The polls open at 6:30am until 7:30pm. CLICK HERE to go to www.meckboe.org to find out your precinct.

#GOTV

Our ancestors (PAST) and our children (FUTURE) are counting on us.  Again, not voting tomorrow is not an option!  GO VOTE!

Yours in leadership,
