Learn to Ride a Bike this Saturday at Marion Diehl
Mecklenburg County, Bicycle Sport and Trips for Kids Charlotte want to make sure that everyone learns to ride a bicycle. That’s why they’re partnering for a “Learn to Ride” event this Saturday, Nov. 7 at Marion Diehl Recreation Center, 2219 Tyvola Road. Lessons will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program will not occur in the event of rain.

First Ward Park Set to Open Dec. 8
First Ward Park, the County's newest uptown park, is only a few weeks away from opening.
The ceremony, hosted by Park and Recreation, will take place on Dec. 8, 10:30 a.m. – noon, and will include light refreshments, musical presentations by area schools and brief remarks from local dignitaries. Parking will be available at 422 E. Ninth St.
After the dedication, join Park and Rec from noon until 7 p.m. for music, hot chocolate and park tours. The park’s holiday lights will be turned on around 5 p.m.
