MLK Day service impacts information
City offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016. 311 311 will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016. Outside of regular business hours, callers can report water, sewer, storm water and animal emergencies via an automated service that dispatches assistances. You can also make many service requests online 24/7. Please call 911 for any emergencies. Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) CATS is operating a Saturday schedule on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016. The Customer Service call center and the Charlotte Transportation Center pass sales offices will be closed. For the Panthers play-off game, CATS will increase service frequency with additional trains. Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT) Heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic expected in uptown Charlotte Jan. 16-17, 2016 Jan. 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade The Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, beginning at the intersection of Ninth Street and North Tryon Street. The parade will follow the standard parade route on North Tryon Street ending at Stonewall Street. Event organizers expect 30,000 attendees. Pedestrians will be crossing streets and walking to various venues from remote on-street and lot parking. Motorists and pedestrians are cautioned to be alert at all times. CDOT and CMPD will monitor traffic conditions to help mitigate congestion during these events.
