Small Business Month

Are you ready to celebrate small businesses and entrepreneurs?

On May 1, Charlotte kicked off Small Business Month with awards, seminars, celebrations and more - making this year’s celebration the largest yet! We are honoring the entrepreneurs and small business owners who are the engine of our local economy.

You're invited to join CharlotteBusinessResources.com and CPCC's Small Business Center for our annual networking luncheon, "What's Your Game Plan?," on Wednesday, May 25 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Bank of America stadium. You will have a chance to make new connections, enjoy lunch and be inspired to build your business game plan. For more information, visit CBRbiz.com/whats-your-game-plan.

For the entire list of Charlotte Small Business Month events, visit CBRBiz.com's calendar of events! Join in the conversation on social media using the hashtag #CLTMonthofBiz, and be sure to “Like” CBRBiz.com on Facebook and “Follow” us on Twitter and LinkedIn!

KaBOOM! to give away $1 million for your play ideas. Applications are due May 31.

Grant

The KaBOOM! Play Everywhere Challenge is giving $1 million ($500 - $50,000 awards) to implement creative play ideas. Anyone can apply, including nonprofits, neighborhood associations, governments and individuals.

The application is simple, with an idea submitted first, then a smaller group asked to submit more detailed applications later. It can be completed online at playeverywhere.kaboom.org.  Project ideas are due by May 31.

Strong applications should describe projects that encourage families to play together. Projects should be accessible within the community and should be able to be implemented within three months or less.

Don’t want to apply now? Play spaces and other community improvement projects may be funded under the City’s Neighborhood Matching Grants program. Click here to review your eligibility and learn program details.
