100 Words from Jeff

Last Friday we ended our legislative session for the year.

Unfortunately, we left one major piece of work undone by taking no significant action to address HB2.

As a state Senator for Mecklenburg, I've seen the economic damage that HB2 has caused.  According to our local Chamber of Commerce, we've lost about $300 million and 1,300 jobs.

Now that we've closed session with no fix, there is a real risk of the economic damage spreading across our state.

I remain committed to the repeal of HB2 - and so do a clear majority of our citizens.

And that’s 100.

Best,

My Opponent Makes Headlines

My opponent used his social media to question whether the LGBT victims of the Orlando massacre "deserved it" because of their sexual orientation.  It was disturbing.

U.S. Supreme Court Will Hear N.C. Gerrymandering Case

I firmly believe that gerrymandering is the most destructive element of North Carolina politics.  That's why the first bill I ever filed was to end partisan redistricting.  The good news is that the U.S. Supreme Court will have the opportunity to issue a landmark gerrymandering ruling in the near future - and it's a North Carolina case.
