On July 6, the Board of County Commissioners approved a new fee ordinance for FY16-17. That new ordinance is effective today, July 7, and is available on meckpermit.com.

  • This fiscal year, Code Enforcement has recommended and the BOCC provided preliminary approval for reducing fees by 5 percent, and changing our fees for demolition projects. Those revised fees have gone into effect with the new fee ordinance.
  • As a reminder, effective July 1 is the updated Building Valuation Data Table. We first told you about this in the spring -- this is a calculation that is used to assess permit fees, based on the type of structure our customers are building. This is calculated automatically in our online permitting application, but can be calculated manually. 

These are the first of many exciting changes we are bringing to our customers over the course of the year. A few days ago, we launched a comprehensive reorganization of our inspection teams aimed at serving all our customers better. There are more exciting enhancements ahead.
