Martin,

HB2 has wreaked total havoc on the North Carolina economy and its people. Businesses have left, entertainers have canceled their shows and major revenue creating events have moved out of the state.

The NCGA Leadership and Governor McCrory have been quick to dismiss the choir against HB2 and have failed to take responsibility for the mess they have created. However, after the most recent losses of the NCAA and ACC championship games, it appears they can no longer ignore the issue at hand.

But now they are at it again by trying to pressure Mayor Jennifer Roberts and the Charlotte City Council to roll back the non-discrimination ordinance.

It is easy to see that this is an attempt to shift the backlash of HB2 to Charlotte. We need your help to ensure that the Charlotte City Council knows that we will not stand for this.

Letting your council members know has never been easier. Follow the link, sign your name and we will send an email to every council member that voted in favor of the ordinance and ask them to take a stand against the bullies in Raleigh.

Also mark you calendar for the Charlotte City Council meeting THIS Monday, September 19th, at 5:00pm at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center (600 E 4th St, Charlotte, NC 28202).

Show up and thank the Charlotte City Council for their commitment to equality and ask them to stand up to the bullies. Tell them they did the right thing and that history will remember them for it. Show up on Monday at 5:00pm and ask the City Council to preserve the Charlotte non-discrimination ordinance.

For Equality,

Matt Hirschy
Director of Advancement, Equality NC
