Yesterday, Charlotte stood up to Governor McCrory and said they're not going to play games with equality.
Governor McCrory has the power to call a new session of the General Assembly to repeal H.B. 2. With the stroke of a pen, he could set North Carolina on the course of regaining the tourism, jobs, investments, sporting events, concerts, and respect that our state lost when we passed House Bill 2.
We could put North Carolina back on track today. Instead, Governor McCrory and the General Assembly continue to make things worse.
Mayor Jennifer Roberts and the Charlotte City Council are standing on the right side of history, as is every city that has taken a stand against H.B. 2.
Together, we can stand up to this bad bill. Remember, if you can't change the policy, you can always change the policy makers.
