We are less than two weeks away from our most significant and inspiring event of the year and we can’t wait for you to join the celebration! We have already told you that we will be joined by a champion of equality - U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro. Now, we are thrilled to announce Sarah McBride as a Special Guest at our 10th Annual Equality Gala! A native of Wilmington, Delaware, Sarah is the National Press secretary for the Human Rights Campaign and serves on the Board of Directors of Equality Delaware, the state’s primary LGBTQ-advocacy organization. She has worked on LGBTQ equality at the Center for American Progress and interned at the White House – the first out trans woman to do so. Just a few months ago, Sarah again made headlines as she became the first out transgender person to address a major national party convention. Sarah’s story is crucial to our own as we seek to make the change in North Carolina as she has in her own state.
