Dolly Pardon is being honored tonight. Back in the 70's she lived in my neighborhood when she was on the Porter Wagnor Show! She was always so nice! When I was a teen I worked at a Wendy's and she would come through the drive through window every so often. People would hear her voice ordering and she was always so sweet to everyone giving autographs when all she wanted to do was get some food.
I loved the start of the show tonight. Cousin Mini Pearl. I use to see all those country stars around Nashville. String Bean, Grandpa Jones, Dottie West, Loretta Lynn, Roy Acuff, and a lot more. I remember back in the 60's being at the Ryman Auditorium and a bomb threat was called in. We had to go out back and it was raining. I stood in this little garage out back with String Bean and Grandpa Jones.
In the 70's I was a Nashville Host and we would learn all about all the tourist attractions so we could direct tourist that asked about attractions. It was fun.
