100 Words from Jeff

This week, I filed a bill to fully repeal HB2.

As we have all witnessed, there is no way for our state to fully participate in the modern economy with this law on our books. We've lost hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of jobs.

But we're losing more than money - we're losing our reputation as a state that's ready for the future.

I believe we have the votes to fully repeal HB2. I am certain that Gov. Cooper will sign the bill if we send it to him.

All that remains is to call a vote. We're ready.

Best,

2017 Elections?

Whether our next election will be in 2017 or 2018 is still up in the air. We're waiting for the Supreme Court to decide if it is going to hear the case. But - either way - we are laying the groundwork to gain enough seats to break the supermajority, unlock Gov. Cooper's veto, and re-establish some political balance.
