I have participated in these panels in the past. They really are interesting and it is legit.
Give it a shot you might qualify for this one or another group. I did a one when Dollar Tree was taking over Family Dollar. They fed us and paid cash immediately after our focus group. Looks like this one pays to a paypal account. They are doing different studies all the time, so if you don't make this one perhaps you will get on another one.

If you refer a Charlotte or surrounding area resident to take our survey and they participate in our focus group, we will pay you $50 via PayPal.
The research study is a 3 hour focus group at a research facility on either April 20th. All participants will be paid $250 via PayPal as a thank you. A recruiter must call and invite all participants to participate prior to the focus group interview.
