KCB Certificate of Appreciation

Posted in: Madison Park

I was invited to attend the KCB Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on May 6th, 2017.   I invited Joseph Delorm to attend with me since he does monthly clean ups of Tyvola on his own.   I take care of signs and large items as I see them and have done this since 2005 when we took on the Adopt A Streets.

Uploaded on this web site under pages is the certificate that was awarded to me for the work we do on our multiple Adopt a Streets.

We do Tyvola from Park Road to Old Pineville Road

Seneca Place from Park Road to South Blvd.

And the 5K group has there own stretch of streets they clean.

You can help by cleaning up any of these streets and helping with sign removals in the ROW.   The best thing is not to put the signs up.  You could face fines from Codes from $100 for the first 5, $500 for the next 5, and starting and #11 and up $1000 per signs.   This includes signs such as lost pets and even Yard sales.

If your out walking consider taking a bag and pick up trash.  We have a number of neighbors that do this on walks on many of our streets to keep them looking their best.

In a few months KCB will be adding signs to the Adopt A Street signs that alert people that select streets have been being cleaned for more than 10 years.   We shoud be getting some of these on our KCB streets.

IN 2016, Volunteers worked 27,223 Plus hours cleaning City streets in Charlotte and collected over 84,040 pounds of litter and recyclables.

In 2017 the challenge from KCB is to serve 30K hours and collect 90K pounds of litter and recyclables.

Encourage 2 friends to adopt a street.      Find out more at charlottenc.gov/kcb.

If you help with any of our streets please fill out the online Clean up report at the above address.    Put in Madison Park and your contact info.    That way we get credit for the clean up and it goes toward the KCB Challenge.
