Wasn't a threat. HMM. They had and would have continued to be a threat to not only us but to their own people. The Iraq government had been killing its own people for years under Sadaam. Are we or are we not supposed to protect the people that can not protect themselves. If in fact you served in the Military then you should know this. But mayby you were just in the Coastgaurd.
As for WMD's Sure we never found any but we also gave them notice that we were coming. We all know that they had and have been shipping items over the borders to Syria.
Prior to 9/11 Clinton said Bin Ladin wasn't a threat to America either. See where that got us. At least President Bush had the courage to do something about terror attacks on our Country. If a democrat would have been in office we would have responded by trying to talk to them.
How quick our people have forgotten that horible day 9/11/01. That is a day I will never forget. Also being in the Military and talking to people that are fighting over in Iraq 99% of the soldiers over there want to be there and have volunteered to go back several times. They are not ashamed of anything. They are attempting to make this world we live in a better place for everyone.
No, there was never any likelinhood of there being wmds. We knew the vast majority were destroyed. There was only a small number in doubt. We had no evidence of any programs or any information outside of that small number. Instead we allowed the what if fear mongering to override reasoning and logic. People with box cutters and knives morphed into fear of wmds, froma country not involved in the attack on us. Like scared school girls, we stopped thinking. And the cost was thousands upon thousands of needless deaths.
