Wasn't a threat.  HMM.  They had and would have continued to be a threat to not only us but to their own people.  The Iraq government had been killing its own people for years under Sadaam.  Are we or are we not supposed to protect the people that can not protect themselves.  If in fact you served in the Military then you should know this.  But mayby you were just in the Coastgaurd.

As for WMD's Sure we never found any but we also gave them notice that we were coming.  We all know that they had and have been shipping items over the borders to Syria.

Prior to 9/11 Clinton said Bin Ladin wasn't a threat to America either.  See where that got us.  At least President Bush had the courage to do something about terror attacks on our Country.  If a democrat would have been in office we would have responded by trying to talk to them.

How quick our people have forgotten that horible day 9/11/01.  That is a day I will never forget.  Also being in the Military and talking to people that are fighting over in Iraq 99% of the soldiers over there want to be there and have volunteered to go back several times.  They are not ashamed of anything.  They are attempting to make this world we live in a better place for everyone.

No, there was never any likelinhood of there being wmds.  We knew the vast majority were destroyed.  There was only a small number in doubt.  We had no evidence of any programs or any information outside of that small number.  Instead we allowed the what if fear mongering to override reasoning and logic.  People with box cutters and knives morphed into fear of wmds, froma country not involved in the attack on us.  Like scared school girls, we stopped thinking.  And the cost was thousands upon thousands of needless deaths.

In regard to the professor's contribution.  Sentence one....false...there was a likelihood.  Sentence two....false...we did not know that.  Sentence three....false...we did not know the number.   Sentence four.....false....we did have evidence.   Sentence five....false.  Sentence six....I believe the people with box cutters were responsible for thousands of lives, not morphing.  Sentence seven....actually, we started thinking, which has spared us another attack on our home soil.  Last sentence......"needless" is an insulting word.

This appears to be a rather weak rehash and isn't up to the professor's usual standard of excellence.  Has "copaplea" assumed yet another identity?

Odd, joey....You posted many years ago while insulting me and challenging my veteran status that you were indeed, a Navy veteran. How did that get you to the 82nd airborne? I guess history changes as time rolls on in your world.

Your memory is faulty.  I was never in the Navy and never said I was.  You need to read or listen or research better, as you're wrong once again.

Thanks, davie; but you are wrong. On a veterean's day long ago someone asked in a complimentary post to veterans, how we veterans served. Back then, joe posted he was a Navy veteran. I clearly remember that as he was the boastful visitor from afar (Mason City). That may have been a lie then for whatever reason...but nonetheless it placed him on record. I don't forget, davie.

Dude. What planet are you from? In his own words ....he will bankrupt the coal burning power plants.....his spread the wealth views are marxist, he has voted on gun bans, spent 20 years listening to his preacher preaching racism.....

so is this really dave? just curious you both write the same way..seeing as how you both misspell words, and admits to having several usernames.......just curious

No, that isn't what he said.  Try checking out Fact check.org or some other reputable fact checking site.  He was speakign about those who will polute, and if they want to polute, they will go bankrupt.  Again, when you feed yourself misinformation, you're likely to get things wrong, as you have here.

And no, I spell better than Dave.  Wink

Factcheck.org is not reputable, davie. It is ran by the Annenberg Institute, a most liberal sosciety. Give it up, davie.
