How's everyone this chilly morning? Frosted glass, wilted ivy vines, and gray skies, wouldn't be winter at our heals would it?
We just get so giddy and skippy(shuffley) in our cases, but the holidays seem to bring out something hidden for many months. Warm hearts and hearths, childrens squeels on christmas morn- wrappings and bows, musical chimes and bells ringing the news, snow shovels aligned along the merchants walls, with twinkle and tinsel bountiful in every isle. With all that to be so cheerful about, how can we keep hammering away at the last miserable election? Oh for sure, happy are many, not so are some, and totally indifferent are others. But with that, I must say that though I wouldn't have wanted her so close to the oval office, she is still a human being who felt that she and McCain could have made a difference. Cannot beat her down for at least trying and believing. And regardless of who put the "Hoax" on her, they duped many on both sides. There was a radio program out of Canada I heard, that got her aptly and amidst the conversation, directly indicated more than once that it wasn't a legitimate call from the French leader. Palin was very good natured about it and simply let it go. I don't know, given some time she might one day show she is ready and able to lead this country. And at that time I felt I wouldn't have asked her to organize a bake sale,(gut feelings perhaps) I like her person, her dedication to her family, to her own state and her zeal for life as a mother and wife most of all. I just feel that politics on a national scale could destroy who she really is. I don't see a true politician in her(as she saw a divided America, into real and fake) and think it would be a shame to do that to her. I doubt very much that she truly believed that poop.
I watched her in interviews recently and realized that once she wasn't tied by the guile and guidance of campaign trainers and constraints, she actually seemed more likable and intelligent. I think the flaw primarily was in choosing her to start with, but hey, they did it and didn't look back. Though I feel the McCain crew used her ill advisedly, she always seemed down to earth and ensconced in family, that hasn't changed. But what has is the way she seems to be redefining her self and purpose, outside the last mess of a campaign, she just might get closer the next time. Like McCain, she too should be thankful this bucket of filth isn't theirs to suffer cleaning. So how does this sound? WE forget the last couple months, we redirect our energies to correcting the misteps of ALL that our entire government has made the last decade, and like one astute writer put it recently, "I prefer to look at the glass as half full" or such..(good point Max) and think about our own hopes, joys, family, friends and try to make a difference in all our ills this holiday season. While still looking ahead with more optimism, more tollerance and prayer. Though there are those out there who would do us harm, Peace is all our duty, even if it seems hopeless at times.
Happy Holiday and GOD BLESS.
