OOPS how'd that happen??

Good morning BIG B. Chosen, Its, max, all the children on our "playground"(me too)

(I ask in advance for forgiveness for the length and content, not meant to offend anyone, This is just as I have seen, read and heard it as our history).

We seem to be at odds over the "who caused this mess over the past eight years." Not one of us knows how this will turn out. Not one of us really knows how deep the issues of corruption from this Bush admin. might go( if at all). We do know that Vice President Cheney did in fact call himself a fourth branch of government. We do know that he said he doesn't really care what the majority of Americans feel. We do know that there are shadows of serious doubt regarding the potential for abuse of power within the bush Administration. We do Know that we failed to make a serious attempt at all to capture the ACTUAL culprits of 9/11/2001. We do know that Sadam had nothing to do with that atrocious act and are spending 10 BILLION a month there. We do know that TWO bills introduced by Phil Gramm, one in Late 1999 signed by Clinton and one in 2001 signed by Bush that have deregulated our banking, securities and trade systems, and ARE at the heart of our financial crumble. Frankly none of that compares to what we must now do no matter what the past eight years has brought us or who led us. And, I don't think any of those things serve the best interests of this nation by trying to make a criminal case out of it.  But more importantly we know that our country is in dire trouble. Our young men and women are fighting two wars that either way, win or lose, is a sign that our entire world is off it's nut.

So what that we impeached Clinton because he cheated on his wife and didn't think it was any of our business. Not because he may have abused his power, or because he may have lied to the world to start a war that shouldn't have been waged. Not because he said he'd fire anyone who outed his own agent of the CIA, because her husband proved he lied in an official report to support the wrong war. And then didn't do anything but pardon the only guy they could pin down. No, nothing as serious as that, But because he had sex and said he didn't. The democratic congress since Jan. 2007 have been called "the most ineffective congress in 50 years" by the president. But lets not forget that until then, the PRESIDENT had not vetoed ONE SINGLE BILL. Not is six years had he stamped VETO on anything sent to him by the party in control of both houses. I don't care who it was actually, but the fact is that it wasn't the democrats. If it had been--- well then, fire them too!  How can any of that be overlooked and twisted to be anyone's fault, but those in total control? Blaming the weak little 35 vote majority that the dems have had, is JUST BLIND. No veto override authority, no filibuster power just 35 hallow seats of useless butts. While the MAN in charge says NO to EVERY bill they send him but the two he wanted, then says they do nothing. SO WHAT? CASE CLOSED.

Like we all know, this country is about to collapse. This admin. is about to leave, passing the torch of the worst economic collapse in history with both parties to share the blame. If you do the percentage work, over 20% of the population was out of work during the GREAT DEPRESSION. With a national population of less than 125 million. Compare that to today with over 300 million and unemployment nearing 10% and you begin to see just how bad things really are. So in spit of all the who did this and who did that, the real issue now is, HOW DO WE FIX IT?The majority of People in this country have made up their minds. They all believe what they believe, so do we and you and.........well it can't matter any longer. Like Bush? Detest Bush? A kid shaking a can of rocks makes more sense now! He did or didn't do anything wrong or he did everything wrong. Now is the time to get passed all this and move ahead.  If this congress and this new president fails, then GOOD RIDDANCE TO THEM ALSO. I have laid out an accurate history of our warring, legislative, and executive powers throught our past 232+ years and finally conclude that THEY, BOTH PARTIES, ARE WORTHLESS.

The holidays are near, family and friends are more important now then ever, we need to cling together if we are to ever stand again as THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

God Bless AND HEAVEN HELP US-EVERYONE.

Osama bin Laden is Dead

Nov 13, 2008

I'm pleased to see Barak Obama hit the ground running after his election on the 4th. The US needs change.

I'd like to see him announce the death of Osama bin Laden as one of his first official duties. Bin Laden often better known as bin Forgotten died in December of 2001. There is nothing I am saying that is news to anyone who has actually spent any time thinking.

Osama bin Laden had serous kidney disease that required him to have dialysis treatment twice a week. There aren't any dialysis machines floating around in the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan. A few months back a reporter finally asked the question that should have been asked years ago at a White House press conference.

How is it that a guy who was seriously ill seven years ago is getting treatment for end-stage renal disease in some cave in Afghanistan? The woman conducting the press conference panicked at the thought of answering that most basic question and immediately canceled the rest of the briefing.

The United States does not need a boogieman living in a cave in Asia. Osama bin Laden is dead. Barak Obama should be honest enough with the American people to declare him dead.

Here are the facts.

  1. The last intelligence intercept of Osama bin Laden was on December 14 of 2001. He has not been heard from since.
  2. President Bush and Defense Secretary Rumsfeld hinted in late December of 2001 that they knew Osama bin Laden was dead.
  3. President Musharraf of Pakistan announced in January of 2002 that Osama bin Laden was probably dead of kidney disease.
  4. President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan was quoted in October of 2002 as saying, "The more we don't hear of him, and the more time passes, there is the likelihood that he probably is either dead or seriously wounded somewhere."
  5. But the actions of the US Military are the most telling. There isn't a single soldier, sailor or Marine tasked with chasing down Osama bin Laden, dead or alive. Because we know exactly where he is. He's dead. So the US military is either totally or absolutely incompetent or Osama bin Laden died years ago and we've been fighting the boogieman.
  6. As early as July of 2002, even the FBI's counterterrorism chief was quoted as saying; Osama bin Laden is "probably" dead.

The US does not need a boogieman; we have real challenges ahead of us. We need a President who will not lie to us on a constant basis.

While you are at it Mr President Elect, you may want to mention that Iran never threatened to wipe Israel off the map and 16 US Intelligence agencies all agree [pdf] Iran does not have a nuclear weapons program. But you knew that, didn't you? Iran is neither the enemy of the United States nor Israel.

From a blog about this ridiculous NYT article:

Really, bigbrother? A blog? You can't be serious.

For someone who has often chided others here for using Wikipedia and that "wacky" Snopes as sources, I find it ironic that you would offer up a quote from a blog as a rebuttal. If Wikipedia, which can be altered by any registered user, and Snopes, which is run by a husband and wife, aren't reliable enough for you, I'd be interested to know your reasoning behind using a blog post that gives the political opinion of an admittedly partisan chiropractor as a means of refutation. Surely, you wouldn't accept this kind of argument from someone like chosen or davisjoe so I'm surprised you would even offer it up. Or is this one of those IOKIYAR (It's OK If You're A Republican) things?

Well, not EVERYONE knows that this country is about to collapse.  Having lived through the end of WW2, Korea, Vietnam, the Cuban Missile crisis, disco, punk rock, fast food, and the designated hitter, I still prefer to see the glass half full while you apparently are intent on finding every dark cloud lurking behind silver linings.  Instead of wringing your hands and asking help from the almighty, try getting out and about if you're able.  I visited several of our local places of business today, and was met with smiles, nods and good conversation.

We'll get through this, regardless of who's sitting in that big white house.
