States With a Standing Call for a Constitutional Convention

Alaska
Arizona
Arkansas
Delaware
Colorado
Georgia
Idaho
Iowa
Kansas
Maryland
Mississippi
Missouri
Nebraska
New Hampshire
New Mexico
North Carolina
North Dakota
Oklahoma
Oregon
Pennsylvania
South Carolina
South Dakota
Tennessee
Texas
Utah
Wyoming

My guess is that it has to do with Article V of our US Constitution and a push for a balanced budget amendment. I think this came about some time around 2004 or 2005. The thing to remember about a constitutional convention, however, is that if it passes (or, in this case, is approved by enough states) it basically opens up the entire constitution to the possibility of being rewritten.

doesn't sound like a good Ideal to me! what with the knucleheads we have in office! there is only 26 here I seen another one that had 32 on it with florida, alabama and louisiana who have recinded their calls.

and I heard ohio is trying to pass it there.

It's NOT a good idea. Our constitution can be amended without a constitutional convention. Opening the document up to revision could not only be disastrous, but it would cost millions, of not billions, of dollars.
