" unless one is stupid and uses and admits to using their real name".  Ok Big Brother, since I'm one of the FEW that uses their real name, I guess that you're calling ME stupid?  You talk about Chosen being libelous and slanderous, I guess that if I were you, I'd put myself in that SAME category!  Tom Milder.

Sorry if you feel offended, Tom; but that would be wrong. I addressed the singular act of  "one is (being) stupid and uses and admits to using"...not the fact that any person is stupid. We must consider the complete thought and who it was intended for; a broad audience.

My post was a personal generalized opinion about action(s) performed by any (un-named) person(s), and in no way is a personal libel of any one person. No one was identified and no person's personal character has been defamed.

Otherwise, what you assert would be tantamount to any democrat saying they were personally libeled everytime I generically post that liberals are evil.

Having said all this Tom, have you ever noticed how many websites and message boards you visit that recommend NOT releasing personal information, and how many news stories there are about identiity theft?

Have a good weekend.

GOOOOOD AFTERNOON ALL!!

What a splendidly, gloriously, warm day it is today, and yet a tad chilly regarding this personal info issue. Yup, to be sure it probably isn't a good idea. I have given  details a time or two, that should one really wish to pry too deep, they could use a genealogical database to find me, but still end up getting but a name. Though this is a relatively safe, small community per-se', there are those who could try anyway. Though too Tom? your point is one of outward honesty and character rather than fear of defamation or worries of theft. Fairness and understanding to you, and shame upon anyone who would try to use your name nefariously. In this super information age anything is possible and therefore security should truly be considered relentlessly. Happily this group seems harmless, though sadly not every set of eyes from outside this circle are.

So, I'm sure no one here meant anyone harm nor deliberately wishes to demean or berate another over this issue. A fine appreciation for any efforts of honesty and or integrity while remarking (Tom) thank you for your openness, but I'm certain all here hope you are always safe from anyone who might try to cheat you for that.

God Bless
