What a grand day this one was! Almost made me forget the past week of records set everywhere.
Thank you Big B, I didn't realize the GW administration was so honorable. Silly public opinion anyway. Regarding the NCLB Act? It was nowhere near Bill Clinton. It was actually formulated under a totally different structure back in 1965 under Johnson, and didn't defund our educational system as it began it's snowballing after GW signed it into law in January of 2002. Revitalized subsequently throughout the next 47 years. Though Clinton signed E.&S.E. act, it established common standards set back in 1965 that were designed primarily to create equality for all minorities among our national educational system. GW's version was a tremendous departure from the original text and complete misdirection that gained support from false factors. No sir, GW was out there to be sure.
Is it actually that which went into record regarding constitutional law under any other administration since the Geneva convention? Yes. Torture- Hebe's Corpus-FISA-Freedom of Expression-Nation Building-Outing Spy Agents and oh the ways we look away. FISA was all any president needed to affect the protections of our rights and any departure from FISA...the said, the "GREAT" Protect America Act was an exo-facto measure to cover the backs of the amazing violator. GW was violating the law well ahead of that passage since 2001, and that is a violation of CONSTITUTIONAL law. Suspension of Hebe's Corpus, authorization of torture and........"you doubt any of that? just ask yourselves what we'd be listening to on talk radio, and thus watching on the cable news nets, and thus see debated on the floor of Congress, had a bi-partisan U.S. Senate panel found that President Bill Clintonhad approved War Crimes that hastened the deaths of thousands of U.S. troops, just before Vice-President Al Gore went on ABC News to admit it, and even crow about it. You suppose that coverage might help inspire a "citizen" uprising in that case? You bet. But it is, for the moment, a wing nut world. We just live in it." So we look at the forest and only see the trees where this administration was concerned. You and I both know that when a tree falls in the forst and no-one is there, it Does Not Make a Sound. People are like that. You don't let them know about it and it didn't happen. I cannot sway anyone's opinion that doesn't want it swayed. The elements of what this administration has essentially gotten away with in an imperialistic fashion are numerous and supported by a camp of apointed constitutional experts? who will always stand on their own assessments to protect ideals that were not actually in this nations best interests. Bush may well have been a good guy and thought he knew best how to protect this nation, but in all truth he didn't quite understand what our founding fathers would be rolling in their graves over, the utter disillusioning of our constitution. Some seem to feel that we need to lose a little to gain. That might be the case in investments, but NOT our constitutional liberties. That slippery slope had been executed numerous times, and don't forget, that applies to ALL your rights. Let them take one and they are all up for grabs eventually.
I understand what you are saying Big B. But cannot condone what I know to be a pack of misleading and misdirecting gaffs and acts. The worst attacks on our soil were indeed a tragedy and going to get those who committed those acts were a noble attempt in Afganastan. Not Iraq. Our brave men and women who went there, did so at the behest of a team who didn't get it right in spite of those efforts. My family stands tall throughout our military history and any suggestion that I or any of them don't understand is hog slop. I will always respect many of his efforts and attempts to do what he thought was right, but I will never accept what he or any other leader throughout our history has done to mess with that honor. Obama has four years to get it right or screw it up. I will hold him to that same standard and accountability.
God Bless.
