Thank you for sharing this with us.  I have always wanted a "bike" and that would mean a Harley for me and I don't care what size.  When I was young and had the money, I was told I would never be able to pass an eye exam so I should just forget driving ever.  With two corneal transplants I have a license and have driven many miles without an accident.  Now I am old and am beyond the age of starting out to ride like I know you enjoy.  More power to you and I pray that everyone watches out for you and shares the road ahead.

I have rode bikes all my life and have fell victim to drunk drivers the ever so unpopular cell phone drivers. I send this message out to everyone I can every single year in hopes that maybe someone somewhere might see a biker on the road and offer a small courtesy and use a little caution or at least pay a little attention. I can tell you from experience last year that I have had a cell phone driver look me square in the eyes and still manage to pull right out in front of me, I had no choice but to throw my bike on the pavement and suffer the roadrashed skin rather than hit the car and risk that whole tangled mess. I have been hit in the face with lit cigarettes that have been tossed out a car window. Long ago in my younger days, I was about 15 years old, I had also had the honors of being hit by a drunken driver while riding my cycle and spent a year of my life learning how to walk again.

I do have to admit, I do have the look, the tattoos and the beard and leather  So yes I do fit the sterotypical biker picture, and do get the looks of fear and I hear the moms tell their kids "dont look at him hes a bad person" But Im not. I go to nice stores with my wife and children and I get followed around by the staff to make sure Im not stealing from them, Its quite obvious to me when the staff follows you around and asks you 500 times if you need help and trys to rush you out.. But at the same time, I work 60 plus hours a week and I give my time to get involved in charties and every single year I donate to those in need. I dont ask for anything in return from anyone.

Oh how I wish I still had my BMW sidecar bike, I would be honored to put you in that sidecar and take you for a spin.

I appreciate your comments and I Thank you.
