I don't watch much on Iowa public television, but by chance I caught part of a series that ran on there last month. The programs were on comedy and started with Vaudville, it talked about people like George Burns and Jack Benny who were able to jump from vaudville to radio and then those who could jump from radio to television. One night the show featured slap stick with movies and people like the Marx brothers and the Three Stoogies. One show was on cesorship and featured people like Lenny Bruce and Mae West . Those were the only episodes I saw. then I also caught a two hour special just on George Carlin that had some real early stuff of his ( he wore a suit and tie).
I will try to watch and if the shows are repeated, i'll post it on NL so you can watch if interested.
