I have never been a big Obama supporter. But when he was elected I did want him to suceed. So I reserved any judgements I had, ignored all the deflamitory things people were saying about him, in hopes he would suceed. I did want to give him the benifit of the doubt. But I have to tell you I am not to impressed with his first 100+ days. Forget the billions of dollars he has wasted on bailouts that our grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be paying for all their lives, forget the flip flopping and waffling on things he said during the campaign, the thing that did it for me was a TV commercial I saw yesterday. (Twice as a matter of fact, on two different channels.) A TV commercial selling kids sneakers with Obama's picture on them.
"Kids help support freedom by wearing your Obama sneakers."
How dignified is that for the office off the presidency? Using the highest office in the land to sell sneakers... but wait...
"And kids act now and order your Obama sneekers and get this Obama backpack free."
I am serious here.
"And if you act right now we will also send you this offical basketball with Obama's picture on it."
This is what the commercial said.
How dignified is this? Does his people know his job performance and policies are going to be so poor they have to hire a marketing firm to make him look good and promote his image? He already has a commemorative coin and collector plate on the market. Do we have a president in the White House or a pitch man? Billy Mays would make a better president or that Sham Wow guy.
What's next? His picture on jock straps so he can honestly say he has a lot of supporters? Perhaps Nancy Pelosi shot glasses. "Yeah, I was briefed by the CIA, I was just to drunk to remember it."
This is as dignified as G.W. Bush endorsing Hooked on Phonics. This is about as dignified as having Bill Clinton's likeness sewn into the crotches of ladies underwear. "Ladies help support freedom by sitting on the face of a President."
I personally feel this tarnishes and belittles the office of the president. Just about as bad as Clinton did with his sexapades in the Oval Office. How cheap do we want to make the office of the President?
The only place I want to see Obama's picture is on the back of a milk carton.
