Who should I hire?

Posted in: Muscatine

I haven't posted in a really long time. How is everyone? I just purchased a big LCD tv and am wondering who in town is reputable for proper installation? What advice does anyone have? What pitfalls should I avoid? For the slightly technologically challenged can anyone offer some help? I can read a manual, don't get me wrong but I would had to really foo-bar something before I even get started.

Thanks!

You might try Channel One Video next to the salvation army store......i've never done buisiness with them but i'm sure they would have no probs with an install...and there is the place on the corner of second and cedar as well.....

gta is right about Channel One.  They installed a wall-mounted flat screen for me and did a good job.  He hooked up my dvd, HD receiver and everything. Even moved the old dvr to another room that didn't have one.  The only thing I can caution you on is to tell him exactly what you want done. I have 2 flat screens.  The one in the living room was installed by Best Buy.  They ran all the cords inside the wall, so nothing is visible.  Channel One just installed plastic conduit that ran down the wall.  Hides the cords, but compared to the living room, doesn't look quite as good.  I think if I had asked, he would have done it exactly like the living room.  They really do great work, and well, it's been a year or so, and it hasn't fallen off the wall yetLaughing    The other nice thing is that if you have any problems or questions, just call them.  It's a lot easier to reach the guy who actually installed it when you call them than it would be some guy from out of town.  Good luck with the installation, and enjoy your new TV :)

I have had very good experiences with Allcotts, but that was with TV's that I purchased from him.  I don't know if he installs stuff that was bought elsewhere.  Are you dealing with a sound system and/or a blue-ray player.  If not, hooking up the new LCD isn't really that much different than what you had.
