Something to Ponder

I have witnessed many posters who have come and gone.  Some have posted under various names.  Some like to joke and tell stories while others have tended to be more on the serious side.  Then there are those who enjoy talking about politics.  There has been compassion shown to others in a time of need and this has been magnified with the passing of a friend.

I would like to believe that we all have some compassion in us for those who are different and those who may anger us once in awhile.  Many things are said in anger when emotions are high and good judgment is clouded.  One of the greatest qualities is to forgive others and to help those who need help.  We should never let one another down.  Read the following and hopefully understand the message.

A little more kindness,

A little less creed,

A little more giving, a little less greed.

A little more smile, a little less frown,

A little less kicking a man

When he is down.

A little more "we" and a little less "I"

A little more laugh, a little less cry,

A little more flowers on the

Pathway of life,

And fewer on graves at the

End of the strife.

We are so blessed to live in the town that we do.  Yeah, it's kinda like the Cheers song, "Where everbody knows your name...etc".  It can be frustrating @ times.  It's a conundrum, (sp?).  It's frustrating @ times that people know our past.  It's a comfort @ times that people know our past.

I heard a saying once by  Steven Covey, the author of "7 Habits Of Highly Effective People".  You can walk a mile in my shoes, but you're still wearing your own feet.  We all have baggage... from the past, from what's happening now, etc., etc.  Compassion is the key.  People from large towns don't have the blessing of knowing "the family business", like we do.  In larger towns, you don't necessarily get a 2nd shot at a 1st impression.  WE DO HERE!

We trust, We love, We are honest & hard-working & expect to be treated as such.  Are we let down?  Sure... do we give up?  He** NO!  We're from Iowa, where the daggone weather can be 30 degrees one day & 90 degrees the next without bit**ing about it.  Heck... we brag about it... Yell

"A little more smile, a little less frown", LJ says.  A song I have spent my life emulating, (sp?), is "Wendy".  Does anyone else remember it?  "Walking down the streets of the city, smiling @ everybody she sees... Who's reaching out to capture a doorway?"  I have tried to live that kind of life.  Sometimes, it's bitten me in the butt... (sigh!), MOST often, I have been able to meet the neatest people & would never trade the negative experiences for the great people I have met.

I also have found a lot of people on this site that have shown a lot of kindness to me when things were tough and to them I say thank you, it really helps.

It is very hard for me to disagree with theses same people when I do not agree with them for the above reason. I mostly let it go over my head.

However Nedl is in a different group because I think he likes to be chewed on and I sure hope that I am right on that. If not Nedl pour it on as I have figured you all wrong.
