Well it hopped the plate.  I saw it, but it wasn't like Mark Wahlberg who threw out the first pitch at Fenway and hit somebody in the butt.  And I didn't think it was girly at all.

As much as I dislike the guys politics, I gave him credit for throwing from the mound.  Most of the time the ceremonial first pitch in any game is throw from about half way to the plate.

I should add too, that when Bush threw out 2 ceremonial first-pitches (I'm sure he did more, I just saw the two), he too reached the plate, and one was a strike on the outside corner.  So, as much as I wasn't a fan of his politics, he had a pretty wicked arm.
