I guess that some might not have read my response correctly! I had stated that over 50% of my pension would have been going for insurance, had I not again, went to work, fulltime! I retired 3 years ago, that is 2 years before President Obama was elected to Office. He had nothing to do with my insurance plight! Shackman. |

My daddy always told me, "You don't get nothing for nothing". Trust me, Obama will make you and all of us, pay dearly. |

I guess that I am one of the fortunate people in the insurance program but it did not just happen it was planned. It all started in 1958 when we chose insurance coverage instead of a raise and this practice was continued through the years several times, not every year. The majority of our raises came from the COLA ( cost of living adjustments) over the years.
Our insurance a HMO plan covers medical, dental, vision, as well as prescription drugs with a $ 10.00 co pay per prescription. When we went on Medicare they picked up 98% of the premium because of their reduction in payments.
The cost is $ 2.00 per month voluntary union dues and we just ratified a new 6 year contract with a few increased benefits.
We hard to fight hard for this as a few of the people wanted the money in their pockets, but we succeeded in our goal of taking care of everyone especially the retirees.
