Anyone know where and why there were fireworks tonight (10/24) at about 9pm Southeast of Muscatine? I',m guessing it was in Illinois?

I'm not sure, but I think it might have been a celebration of the Hawkeye football victory tonight. It started just after the game ended on a last play winning touchdown, taking Iowa to an 8-0 mark (the first time in the history of that University). From up on the bluff, it looked like it was either on the shore of the Mississippi or being done from an Island. Or maybe down by the gravel pits? But I'm really not sure either. It was quite a display and loud. My dogs didn't appreciate it at all. Tough,,, I like fireworks and firecrackers and stuff like that. |

I didn't get a chance to see it, just heard it, but, like you, figured it was due to the Iowa victory! Sure hope that the Vikings do as well, today! Shackman. |

Wow, OK, it sure was a professional display and I would guess expensive, too. It was close to the type of display we see every year at the Iowa State Fair. I would guess it was not just fot their victory over the Spartans, but due to the fact that they're now 8 and 0 for the first time in school history. That game last night sure was a nail biter at the end. GO HAWKS! |
