Finally my experience working at a cemetery for 18 months comes in handy!

Someone questioned if Riley funeral home would let you use a Wal-Mart casket? Yes. By law, all funeral homes must accept caskets purchased from other sources, even from other funeral homes, or from cemetery stores like the one now at Muscatine Memorial Park. They can't charge extra handling fees, either. You will be responsible for shipping fees. That is why some families purchase the caskets made by the Trappist Monastery of Iowa.

Here is their website.

I remember hearing about Wal-Mart considering caskets sales not just on-line, but in-store as well. The next few decades will be a "death boom" as baby-boomers will be dying in larger numbers. Some say there may even be a shortage of funeral homes in the future in the larger metropolitan areas.

Ya, that's what I think I'll do, purchase a casket (discount card better work), then rent it out.  Grampa always said, "just throw me in the ditch", we could closed down TLE, and make a "drive through" visitation area, and maybe get a lube job to boot!  You talk about "full service"!  God, what an idea...It'll make millions!  Move over Sam, here I come!  Shackman.
