Interesting bumper snicker

Posted in: Muscatine

You have libeled me here just now.

Wow, the over-reacting victim thing really doesn't fit your online persona, bigbrother. You seem to forget that I'm not new to these parts and I've seen you cry libel on more than one occasion only to turn around and do the same to someone else. Remember chosen? Staunch liberal? Kiritala? Whatever your fetish/fascination with the Davis clan was, you accusing them of "riding the short bus," among other things, was far from the level of respect you seem to require others to treat you with. Hell, before the NL admins started showing up to police the site, you called someone a moron pretty much every day so don't go getting all sanctimonious on us. Those of us who've been around awhile know better.

Just for clarity's sake, when I said "you're praying for him to die" I was using the word "you" in a broad sense to mean all conservatives in general who support the Psalm 109:8 meme. As in "you conservatives are all..." It wasn't directed at you personally but I'm sure that won't stop you from beating this non-issue into the ground for at least to or three more posts. Besides, hiroad's clearly not denying it so I wasn't too far off.

And to think I have complimented your sincerity in the past on this board.  You have reached a new low in your liberal extreme-ism, that's for sure.

You may find this shocking, bigbrother, but whether or not you believe me to be sincere isn't really that important to me. You and I disagree on almost everything and I know that you won't hesitate to try to paint me in a bad light the very first opportunity that you get. So your approval or respect or whatever you want to call it really doesn't rank high on my list of priorities in life. I expect you to disagree with me and feign outrage over the things I say. It's what conservatives do. I'll survive if you don't find me sincere.

On to hiroad....

What if we are praying for just a natural death (such as choking on a 1000+ page health insurance bill in his sleep)?  And as far as his daughters ending up old maids, I don't know of too many violent old maids, outside of a hollywood movie.

Ok hiroad, I don't know where the old maid thing came from. You might want to get your glasses checked or something because the verse referred to his children being fatherless, not husbandless. But whatever....

And technically, I guess you're right. Praying for him to die from asphyxiation due to the health care bill so that his children grow up fatherless and his wife is widowed doesn't make you violent, it just makes you soulless, amoralistic, and unchristian. I remember the villification of chosen when he claimed that he "hated" George W. Bush. I can only imagine the rabid attacks from the likes of you and your conservative bretheren if he had claimed that he wanted georgieboy to choke to death on the patriot act. Some people around here would likely have reported him to the Secret Service for making threats against the office of the president. And yet here we are, with those same conservatives wishing our duly elected president dead. Oh, the irony of it all.

After years of participating here on NL I've come to the conclusion that Republican hypocrisy must be completely painless because if it weren't there would be a whole lot of people around here unable to post because they're writhing on the floor in absolute agony

"Praying for him to die from asphyxiation due to the health care bill so that his children grow up fatherless and his wife is widowed doesn't make you violent, it just makes you soulless, amoralistic, and unchristian."

Not so much.  In my opinion, praying for him to go "orgainize" that big "community" in the sky is akin to those who prayed for Der Fuhrer's demise during WW2.  I believe he is trying to do as much, if not more, damage to our country than old Schikelgruber did.   By the way, a liberal calling someone else soulless, amoralistic, and unchristian is quite a hoot!

"After years of participating here on NL I've come to the conclusion that Republican hypocrisy must be completely painless because if it weren't....etc., etc., etc."

Not really.  Please point out exactly when and where I said or did anything hypocritical?

In my opinion, praying for anyone's death, even a ruthless murderer like Hitler, is despicable and puts you on the same amoralistic level as any other two-bit killer. I don't subscribe to the "eye-for-an-eye" justice of the unenlightened and immoral (not that Obama has done anything on par with murder).

And as far as the Hitler comparisons go... I remember back in 2004 when MoveOn ran their TV ad competition and some dumbass made the Bush-to-Hitler comparison. The media, especially Fox, went ballistic. Conservatives everywhere had their panties in a wad over it decrying the comparison as "historically specious" and "morally outrageous." But now that very same Fox has no problem promoting events featuring signs showing Obama with a Hitler mustache and posters comparing the healthcare reform efforts to Nazi Germany with posters depicting a pile of dead jews. And yet here we are four years later having to endure the same uninformed partisan drivel from the other side of the aisle. Neither comparison, Bush/Hitler or Obama/Hitler, amounts to anything more than a huge steaming pile of uneducated BS.

Please point out exactly when and where I said or did anything hypocritical?

You're a self-professed Republican. As a member of a political party who believes government to be "the problem," the simple fact that you vote for politicians running for office in said government makes you a hypocrite.
