Starting New Years Day Encore western channel has been showing the old "Have Gun - Will Travel" episodes with Richard Boone as Palidan.  Boy have those been fun to watch.  Saw Dan Blocker and Pernell Roberts as bad guys, and June Lockhart as a doctor.  Boy were they young.  A real treat to see again.  I understand Richard Boone is actually a 7th generation nephew of Daniel Boone and a cousin to the 50's crooner Pat Boone.

Well, one of my favorites at the old Amusue (sp?) theatre was Hoppy (Hopalong Cassidy).  Although if you watch one of the old clips these days, you will think he was probably drunk during the filming.  When I was a kid though, he was the greatest cowboy in my mind!   Used to go to the movies and then come home and play cowboys and indians.   

  Nostalgia is one of the great pasttimes for us older geezers.    In view of that, kick back, put your feet up, and remember the old days while listening to this great song left for us by Hoagy Charmichael and Nat King Cole!  Enjoy
