Ask anyone who has had any dealings with Haiti or Haitians. I guarantee you that beyond the immediate needs, any money plowed into that country is money flushed down the toilet.
And who's fault is that, hiroad? The women and children buried in the rubble? The people in need of food, water and medical care? Or maybe it's a broken system over which those people have no control. Now is not the time to punish. Now is the time to help.
At the end of the day, whether you agree with Haiti's past course of action or not, these are still human beings. We have the resources they need. We should give what we can.
