Or a commie hugger like most liberal 'crats? Two more lame responses. Get back to explaining the basis for slander. Or admit Brian Williaims comments were providing informationa and well within ordinary political discourse. Far from the incendiary Limbaugh attacks. |

"What kind of lame response is that? I've got a dictionary. Do you have a different definition beyond the dictioinary? Can you tell us what it is?" Well, mallcontent, that news item for the day, covered elsewhere as well, was about the friendship between Hoover and Harvey that lasted over twenty years. The "avid hater" comment from Williams was a liberty that he took without verifying any of his journalistic facts. It was he, and he alone, who qualified it that way. No other reports use "avid" with "hater", thereby making Williams little rant an untrue journalistic slander. (And, your comment about Limbaugh has no place here as we were speaking to Journalists; not entertainers, like Limbaugh.) (Seems you have a problem with entertainers?)
"And then there was somebody who didn't like Brian Williams' intonations. I think that problem was with the listener." Intonations? Get real, will ya mallcontent? The listener, much the same as a reader of words, holds the right of interpretation for what is heard, seen, and/or read. The problem then, is NOT with the listener, and you have no right to make that judgement, for we all get to interpret as we see fit.
Besides, as NEDL parlayed; what was the point of the "avid communism hater" comment that Williams took the liberty to state? It had little to do with the story on friendship.
Just like in his intro to the story about the Massachusetts senate election, Brian Williams said, "Now we are forced to turn our attention to a mammoth political story playing out in this country tonight...." Forced? This is the biggest political story since the presidential election and the biggest for that seat in 25 years! Brian's job is to bring us the most important news stories from across the country and around the world. Why is he "forced" to report this story? That's like walking into a restaurant and hearing, "Hi. I'm John and I'm forced to be your waiter tonight." If Brian feels like he's being forced to do his job, maybe he should look for another line of work.
It truly is a sad day and time in Liberal journalism... |
