Hi Bb
I did read some of the comments this person "Haysus" made regarding the air of negativity he/she felt some were offering in the face of the endless generosity of Americans to other nations in need. They were a bit harsh true::: but I can see how overwhelming these things can be to ones soul. I too felt there were comments that didn't fit the circumstances about giving to those in Haiti. But it's not for anyone to say who should or should not be giving. It reminded me of the parable Christ offered regarding who gave more. Those with plenty of wealth who gave from some of their wealth, or the woman who gave two small copper coins and all she had? Obviously you know who, but I think the point is here that even a little can be so much. Me, just a few dollars, and again, I'll try to do the same for Chile. We gave to the flood relief of 2008 and Katrina victims and tornado victims. We saw a sad sight by the HyVee store last week, and my husband stopped and gave to a poor guy with no legs in a wheelchair. We felt so bad for him, even if he had millions somewhere, wouldn't have known, but as it was:::well I felt he was truly in needed. I'm not trying to say anyone else has or hasn't helped others, most give and don't say a word. Or that anyone who doesn't offer a dime, are less of a human being than anyone else. I read some things that didn't deserve to be said abouth those who did nothing wrong. Who it was, well I don't recall now, but I do understand why he/she responded that way. I saw a can at a gas station recently that asked for anything to help a family who lost their baby to SIDS. That hit home hard, and the picture of the little angel was so pretty, as I dropped some coins inside My eyes filled with mist. The coins made a hefty chink so others felt the same way. It is so heart warming and even though these people will never know who gave and what, anything can help. In this post you wrote some comical and potentially rebuttable things, and even though you were perhaps still retaliating in essence, though he/she nor I know you from Adam, I am certain your heart isn't as jaded. As DM I think? pointed out. None of us know what others might be doing or have done for others. It was some comments by some that seemed to say there were no deserving victims in Haiti I don't know if you said anything like that, I think is why that person got so cross. I don't know Big B::: perhaps after so long and so much trouble in this world, people get jaded and fed up with all the hands reaching for something they didn't work for. But history has proved that there will be the next disaster around another corner. Heaven help us if it happens right here in some huge city or cities of today. Who is left on earth with the means to give so much to help America? Even though that person did come off to those responded to, as harsh and judgemental, I think we all do it from time to time.
