Are you ready for unrestricted corporate contributions?   Will you be happy when Siemens (Germany) and Toshiba (Japan) decide to back opposing candidates for our senate seat?   Could their millions be the deciding factor?   Could either winner represent us?

The law now allows  corporations (and unions) to spend money on advertisment advocating candidates or issues.  But, those spending the money must make full disclosure that they are the ones sponsoring this advertising and must make a disclosure of how much they are spending.   Then it's up to the citizens to decide the value of the message.

When government seeks to use its full power, including the criminal law, to command where a person may get his or her information or what distrusted source he or she may not hear, it uses censorship to control thought,” Justice Kennedy wrote. “This is unlawful. The First Amendment confirms the freedom to think for ourselves.”
