The reason for the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center were the weak responses to terror attacks by President Clinton. * February 26, 1993, attack on the World Trade Center: 6 deaths and 1,042 injured, * April 19, 1995, Oklahoma City bombing: 168 deaths and over 800 injured, * June 25, 1996, Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia: 20 deaths and 372 injured, * August 7, 1998, attacks on American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania: 12 U.S. deaths out of a total of 223 deaths; 12 U.S. injured out of a total of over 4,000 injured, * October 12, 2000, attack on the USS Cole in Yemen: 17 deaths; 39 injured. All under Clinton. Due to this Bin Laden and al Qaeda figured they had a shot at attacking the US main land. All of the plans and people were put in place while President Clinton was still in office. So when they carried out that attacks of 9/11 they were successful. The one thing al Qaeda didn't predict was President Bush and how he would react to the attacks of 9/11. They never knew that Bush would take the fight to them by declaring war on al Qaeda. By doing this President Bush put them on the run and broke up their terror network. He kept this country safe from attack for 8 years. Now the US is seen as weak by al Qaeda and they feel they have a chance to attack again on the US main land. In Obama's first 16 months there have already been 3 attacks 1 successful and 2 unsuccessful: 1. Fort Hood Shootings, 2. Christmas Day Bomber, 3. Times Square Bomb In NYC. The terrorists now see Obama as being weak. As a reminder, Bush kept us safe for 8 years. Like others, I miss him. |
