On my truck radio this morning I heard ABC news report that for the first time, the US now has more troops in Afghanistan than it does in Iraq.
Then, this afternoon online I see a news headline that "President Obama to deploy up to 1,200 National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border..."
Now, briefly; but didn't liberals scream for some six years that Bush cannot send anymore troops to the middle east because the US military would be grossly over-extended and painfully stretched too thin leaving us with nothing to protect our shores?
Jack Murtha, 11/17/2005: "The threat posed by terrorism is real, but we have other threats that cannot be ignored. We must be prepared to face all threats. The future of our military is at risk. Our military and their families are stretched thin. Many say that the Army is broken." The press bantered this about daily back then!
Was just briefly wondering why, with this all-volunteer military we have; why there are now enough troops to have a record number in Afghan., and still have troops to secure our border? Just how did we get those numbers up? Or; maybe the liberals were lying in the first place....
