The only distinction between the two is which side you are on.

You got it!

May I expand on this?

There are many instances where a one can be both.   A terrorist to your enemies and a freedom fighter to your friends.

Some examples:

Sparticus   Terrorist to the Romans.  Freedom fighter to the slaves.

General Francis Marion    Terrorist to the British   Freedon fighter to us.

Suicide bombers   Terrorists to the Israelis   Freedom fighters to the Arabs

Hamas   Terrorists to the Israelis    Freedom fighters to the Arabs

Bobby Sands   Terrorist to the British   Freedom fighter to the Irish

Crazy Horse   Terrorist to the U. S.   Freedom fighter to the Lakotas

Tim McVeigh   Terrorist to most of us   Freedom fighter to the fringe right

Queen Elisabeth I   Terrorist to the Irish   Freedom fighter to England

Manachem Begin   Terrorist to the British   Freedom fighter to some jews

Don't change your mind just because I agree with you.

sorry I strongly disagree. crazy horse was no terrorist he fought for the freedoms of his people who were being murdered by the hundreds of thousands by people like col. custer( who would charge into a village and kill every thing and everyone including children, women and the elderly). in fact crazy horse was a great man, same as sitting bull, Geronimo, chief Joesph, red cloud, running rabbit. many moons, etc., etc. they all fought with honor and for their peoples freedom. in fact what would you expect a nation of people to do if some aggressive empire attacked, occupied and systematically killed their people. It is a god giving right to defend yourself and your homeland.

the Irish too had it bad. ever heard of the potato famine or An Gorta Mor. it was where britian stole Ireland's food, all except potatoes, then the potatoes were hit with a fungus, leaving the Irish to starve by the millions. no when your people are facing a genocide situation they are defending them selfs.

when you plant a bomb in a black bapist church and kill a lot of innocent people you are a terrorist, you know like that friend of obama that blow up a police station.

"Ahhh, yes...the old liberal relativism, again.  There is no truth.  Just perspective, right?????

So, sort it out for me.   Which of these examples are truly terrorists and only terrorists and which are truly freedom fighters and only freedom fighters?   Using absolutes of course."

No Mal, you don't skate out of something that easy!  You have to answer my question to you posted back on May 29th at 8:05pm in the "Obama failure" thread, before you can expect me to answer your new question.

I shall refresh your memory:

from the 29th another failure for Obama thread:

"Fixing oil disaster my responsibility, Obama says"

By JENNIFER LOVEN and TOM RAUM, Associated Press Writers Jennifer Loven And Tom Raum, Associated Press Writers Thu May 27, 3:10 pm ET

WASHINGTON – On the defensive more than five weeks into the nation's worst-ever oil spill, President Barak Obama insisted Thursday that his administration, not oil giant BP, was calling the shots in the still-unsuccessful response."

Well, then, Mal....is he in charge or isn't he in charge????"

Was he then, and is he still, in charge or isn't he?

I don't have to answer your question but I will give you one.

How could I know what you mean by "in charge"?

I have no contact with the President so have no real knowledge of what all he is in charge of.

My best guess.

He's in charge of the government operations.   In charge of the various cabinet level operations, the coastguard, the military.

He's not in charge of BP's operations.   He is not  deciding how to plug the leak, how to cut and cap it, how and where to drill a relief well.

Now can you clear up my request about who's a terrorist?

Yes, if you take the side of the native Americans, he was a freedom fighter.   If you take the side of the settlers and cavalry, he was a terrorist.   It depends on which side you're on.

the Irish too had it bad. ever heard of the potato famine or An Gorta Mor. it was where britian stole Ireland's food, all except potatoes, then the potatoes were hit with a fungus, leaving the Irish to starve by the millions. no when your people are facing a genocide situation they are defending them selfs.

I'm well aware of the potatoe famine.   It occured in the 1840"s.  The two references I made of the Irish were Bobby Sands in the 1980's and Queen Elisabeth in the late 1500's and early 1600's.   Again, depending on which side you choose, the Irish were fighting for the freedom of Ireland or terrorists trying to destroy the government of England.
