Worst week? Nobama? Vilsack? Sherrod? Rangel?
Various story excerpts from this past week:
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, who appointed Sherrod last year as the Georgia director for rural development, announced today that Sherrod had resigned, saying in a statement "There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA, and I strongly condemn any act of discrimination against any person." Sherrod told CNN that Cheryl Cook, the Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development, demanded her resignation on the phone while Sherrod was on the way back to the main office from a field office by telling her she was about to be on Glenn Beck.
"They asked me to resign, and in fact they harassed me as I was driving back to the state office from West Point, Georgia, yesterday," she said. The last call "asked me to pull to the side of the road and do it [resign]," she said.
Vilsack told CNN on Tuesday that he "didn't speak to anyone at the White House. ... I made this decision, it's my decision. Nobody from the White House contacted me about this at all."
By midweek, the White House was in full mea culpa mode, with press secretary Robert Gibbs telling reporters that "a disservice was done, an apology was owed."
Following Gibbs's lead, Vilsack put himself up for a public flogging, acknowledging that he "could have and should have done a better job" and expressing "profound regret" to Sherrod, to whom he offered a new position with the USDA.

Ok…now my question….where is the directed and public outrage from Liberals and the NAACP over the wrongful firing of a black woman Federal appointee in a white-man-led Federal department; as is business as usual for the Libs & the NAACP? Where are the civil rights champions?….where are the women-libbers?

And then this:
And, just when Vilsack had humbled himself as much as anyone thought he could, Obama decided to humble him some more. In an interview with ABC, Obama said Vilsack had "jumped the gun" in the Sherrod incident. "We have to take our time and think these issues through," the president admonished.
Really?….an admonition….that’s it? Why so quick to not ask for Vilsack’s resignation as evidenced by the self-admitted gross violations and harrassment against this lady.
Once again…another Democrat will not do the right thing and resign, but will try and ride out the wave of stigma from this. Once again, libs will not be calling for Vilsack’s head as they would a repub.
