I have a positive post

Posted in: Muscatine

Yeah, i know. "Jail" don't have an "m" on the end.

Actually it was a conservation of letters - instead of jail 'em it is jailm. Kind of like texting.

I say KUDOS to the people in charge of great river days.  They had a challenge from the beginning...trying to make it as exciting as it had been in the past.  Then they all had to deal with the Riverfront flooding.  Bless all of their hearts & MCC, (Jeff Armstrong), to help it happen!

If this doesn't show the good old Midwestern spirit, I don't know what does!  Everyone  stayed calm, collected and focused & made it happen.  Thank you all!  We appreciate all of your efforts!

THIS IS WHAT SHOULD BE ON THIS SITE INSTEAD OF CUTTING DOWN THE POLITICIANS ON THEIR DECISIONS!  If you disagree with them - email or call them.  Make a difference in your own backyard...then go national!  MAKE A DIFFERENCE HERE, IN MUSCATINE, IOWA BEFORE  YOU TACKLE WASHINGTON.

You tell'em.... I've been very impressed with the guys whom took over river days.

Actually, NEDL, I like the sound of jailm better!!! You may have started something!

Anyway...the jailm will soon also be full of the criminals that nobama will jail when they don't buy the mandatory health insurance that he is mandating we buy, and that alot simply will not be able to afford.

Tlou: It doesn't seem to matter what the topic is, it'll get turned into a political post anyway. This started out as a Great River Days post and it didn't take long to turn into another Obama-hating post. Like you and Frazzled, I'm not interested in political posts and rarely even read them, let alone try to reply. I get really tired of the name-calling and insults...and I imagine I'm going to get some for this!

We went to the craft fair today...I was disappointed there weren't more vendors. but I still managed to buy something. :-) It was a LONG walk in the sun from the mall parking lot to see only  a couple dozen vendors, if that many. Evidently the shuttle didn't start till 1:00pm. I wish there had been more signs stating the time. All the signs at the entrances to GRD said "park at the mall and take the shuttle." I only saw ONE sign with the times but nothing inside the mall parking lot. We saw a couple groups of people standing around at the mall waiting for the shuttle which wasn't gonna come for several hours.

I'm sure that with all the scrambling around changing everything at the last minute some details were overlooked, but it was a bit inconvenient for all the older people who were heading to the craft fair since it was a pretty long walk for them. At any rate I'm very glad GRD didn't have to be cancelled and I appreciate all the hard work that goes into putting on something like that. I hope those guys can have a long rest aftter this weekend...they deserve it. :)
