Great river days

NEDL....PR & the Rs were here about 90 or 91. I'd have to search my file cabinet for copies of the Journal to verify. I was there too, but worked security backstage.

As for GRDs this year...My wife and her mother got to the mall about 11 Saturday. They were pissed cause there were no busses running at that time, to go to the craft fair. So they walked. Mommy-in-law can't handle much of this humidity, so they weren't there long anyway. More vendors would have made her stay longer though. They both complained that there were only 12-15 vendors there, and most of them were selling jewelry and trinket stuff. They also said vendors had to pay $75 for a place-fee.

Also....had a friend in the parade that said the entry fee for that was $100.00.

Don't know if the location change hampered the vendor draw; but 12-15 sounds a little weak to me. With the battle of the bands raining out and then having to pay for the main concert act Saturday....I'm guessing revenue will be down this year. But wish them luck next year.

Yeah, '90 or '91 sounds right. This year has been pretty sucky weatherwise so far.

I remember when Mad became a magazine in 1955. I wish I kept all the ones I had.
